Archipiélago (Archipelago)

A memory exercise, a crystalized moment in time that captures poetic and existential quotidian gestures. What starts as a filmic correspondence slowly becomes an essay that reflects upon the perception of time, the experience of confinement, the human impact on nature and cinema itself.

Directed and Produced by The Archipiélago Collective: Claudia Barthelemy Rojo, Vanessa del Campo, Ander Elorza, David G. Ferreiro, Sally Gutiérrez, Luis Lanchares, Alberto Lobelle, Elena Molina, Jorge Peña Martín, María Royo, Juanjo Rueda, Sandra Ruesga, José Luis Salomón, and Ruth Somalo.

The collective was formed after carrying out a series of video correspondences between a group of members of the DOCMA Documentary Association of Spain with the intention of using the material to create a single film that transcends individual experience and takes the pulse of a critical moment in the history of our society in a poetic and political way.
